# IMAP + SMTP Email Channel
Connects any mailbox over IMAP for inbound polling and SMTP for outbound mail.
Use when staff mailboxes live on a provider without a dedicated channel and the server offers IMAP and SMTP access.
When not to use it: For Google Workspace mailboxes use channel-gmail, which signs in with OAuth2 instead of a stored password.
